September 9 is National Teddy Bear Day, and what better way to commemorate it than with Build-A-Bear Workshop?
Build-A-Bear will be celebrating with $5 teddy bears in stores. And for every purchase of a discounted bear, Build-A-Bear will donate a furry friend to Toys for Tots in the United States, Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada in Canada, and Childhood First (plus other charities) in the United Kingdom.
The commemorative bear, plus Lil’ Vanilla Bean Cub and Lil’ Hazelnut Cub (normally $12), will be available for $5 in the U.S. and Canada, and £5 in the UK. Each guest can purchase up to five bears (while supplies last).
“We celebrate teddy bears every day, but Build-A-Bear Workshop is commemorating National Teddy Bear Day with exclusive $5 furry friends and a heartfelt opportunity to share the hug of a teddy bear with kids in need,” said Gina Collins, chief marketing officer of Build-A-Bear Workshop. “With the support of our charitable partners around the world, we hope to help as many children as possible experience the joy of a new furry friend during this fun, in-store event.”
Build-A-Bear will also hold a Twitter party on Thursday at 9 p.m. Eastern time, where fans can answer trivia and enter to win prizes. Follow and use the hashtag #NationalTeddyBearDay to share your pictures or favorite teddy bear memories!
